1. because it also appeals to gamers. as seen with platform that are heavily dedicated to gamers and similar niche such as (Discord, Twitch, Stream Labs, Reddit)
2. The character style with the smile will help shape the brand voice and identity and make it friendly that talks directly to their community making it less serious corporate-style while still being trusted (magic of smile)

This iteration is a branch of the previous one.
Using the game controller arrows to make the face and the upper arrow to make a light diamond (very common in art character design)
The expression and style is less "soft" and more in-the-zone and ENERGIZED gamer who is ready for some action.
It's also more simplified with no incorporated initials or detailed spartan helmet.
